The 82^nd Anniversary of D-Day—A Day of Victory

So good to be back! Eighteen months since my previous Eye of Prophecy post.

Today is the anniversary of the Allied forces’ greatest combined land, sea, and air invasion of World War II. June 6, 1944. Historically known as D-Day.

Do you know what the “D” represents?

The Allied Army—led by Supreme Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower simply used the “D” for Day. Repetitive but dramatically effective. Several allied campaigns, especially in the Pacific Theatre of War, used D-Day to signal the beginning of a battle.

Others suggest that the D in D-Day could also represent “disembarkation.” The launching of a mighty military force.

Nonetheless, the most historically famous and readily recognizable D-Day is the 6^th of June 1944. Most of us would be hard-pressed to cite the calendar day of say the attack against Iwo Jima or Okinawa.

Even with the painful price of Allied casualties, dead and wounded, D-Day was stunningly successful.

Other operations in the European and Pacific theaters of War were certainly instrumental in the eventual victories over Hitler’s Third Reich and Japan’s Empire of the Sun. Such as British Field Marshall Montogomery’s ultimate victory over his counterpart, General Rommel’s (the “Desert Fox”) army in north Africa and the Russian campaign to the east that spawned a two-front war against Germany. And, of course, two atomic bombs dropped on Japan to rapidly end the Pacific War; thereby, saving hundreds of thousands of United States casualties.

Yet historians agree that D-Day was the beginning of the end of the Third Reich and subsequently of the Japanese Empire.

A previous article was also published on June 6 (2015), entitled Shocking Statistics of the Great Tribulation. All Eye of Prophecy articles are posted on Saturdays. The timing of that 6-6-2015 post was inadvertent, as I didn’t realize that it was D-Day until later. The term “shocking statistics” is not a melodramatic exaggeration. In fact, it’s an understatement of the mind-boggling devastation during the 7-year Tribulation.

Then D-Day arrived again on a Saturday, June 6, 2020. For that week’s article I deliberately chose to post it on that day. Entitled: Sequel to Stunning Catastrophes and Shocking Statistics of the Great Tribulation. It provided more current world population numbers to further magnify the horror of the Great Tribulation, though both articles reference the Second Coming of Messiah Jesus to rescue mankind from annihilation.

Said Jesus in a fact-filled response to his disciples, who had asked about the end times / last days:

“For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones” (Matthew 24:21-22, italics for emphasis).

*Note: time/space does not permit but there is sufficient Scriptural evidence to show that the chosen ones are Jews (individually) and now the reborn nation of Israel collectively.

Premise To Support The Title of Today’s Article

From God’s divine perspective and plans (as poignantly presented/prophesied throughout Scripture, particularly, the Old Testament), the man-made carnage and God’s Wrath during the Tribulation will accomplish four providential objectives. The first three are more commonly cited by Christian teachers, authors, commentators and prophecy enthusiasts; however, the 4^th purpose is not emphasized nearly as much.

(1) Tribulation Saints (a great soul harvest): Many of those left behind at the Rapture will believe and receive the True Messiah—Jesus Christ, mostly Gentiles but also Jews. However, they are not rescued, as such, from their captors and executioners. Many more will reject Messiah Jesus and choose the Antichrist as their supreme leader.

(2) The Remarkable Rebirth, Redemption, and Restoration of Israel: Which is the title of the previous article, posted on 12-7-2024. Beginning mainly with the reborn nation of Israel in 1948, we are witnessing the unfolding of these pivotal events in our generation.

(3) To Establish The Kingdom of God on Earth: With Messiah Jesus ruling and reigning from Jerusalem and all believers serving Him during this magnificent 1,000-year era of righteousness, justice, and peace that Planet Earth has never seen before.

(4) The LORD’s Righteous Anger During the Great Tribulation: Will be directed primarily against nations and individuals whose attitude and actions have been hostile toward Israel. We find this frequently throughout Old Testament end-times passages, not just in Revelation. Those who have harmed Israel, beware! Ranging from unwarranted suspicion of Jews/Israel to unjustified animosity, to illogical contempt, to irrational hatred, and to senseless—random and targeted—global violence against Jews. The worst of which was the Holocaust and the much more recent Palestinian atrocities against Israelis on October 7, 2023.

Concerning Point #4 of the Premise, we will see that the Day of the Lord, to include the Tribulation period, places more emphasis on God the Father and God the Son’s actions against Israel’s enemies than it does for other stunning events taking placing after the splendid Rapture of believers.

We find God’s retribution against Israel’s enemies powerfully displayed in God the Father’s unilateral destruction of Gog/Magog armies during the early phase of the Tribulation (Ezekiel 38 & 39). Then God the Son (Messiah Jesus) rescuing Israel from annihilation by dramatically overcoming Antichrist and his 10-nation coalition during the battle of Jerusalem (Zechariah 12 & 14). Then later at Megiddo at the final battle of all time—Armageddon (Revelation 16 &19).

Also, sealing 144,000 Messianic Jews resulting in their dynamic witness and service for Jesus during the Tribulation. Revelation 7.

In Jerusalem, defending the Jews, the two mighty Jewish prophets of Revelation 11 will torment the Antichrist and his followers.

And not to forget the spectacular divine protection of many Israelis as vividly portrayed in Revelation Chapter 12.

The Final & Greatest D-Day (Soon to Come)

With a literary drum roll and maybe a trumpet or two to announce the primary purpose of today’s article in more detail, God’s final providential D-Day is succinctly summarized in the title of this article. Particularly, the words, Divine, Decisive, and Devastation. Culminating with two epic D-Day events—conquest of Gog/Magog followed a few years later by the final battle of all time … Armageddon.

Beginning with the powerful prophecy heralding the Day of the Lord: “Sound the trumpets in Jerusalem! Raise the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everyone tremble in fear because the day of the Lord is upon us. It is a day of darkness and gloom (but only for the unsaved, especially those who have harmed Israel), a day of dark clouds and deep blackness…” (Joel 2:1-2a, parenthesis mine).

“…The day of the Lord is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive?” (Joel 2:11b).

“And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth—blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved…” (Joel 2:30-32a).

“At the time of those events, says the Lord, when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession (Jews, Israel), for scattering my people among the nations, and dividing up my land” (Joel 3:1-2, parenthesis mine).

Another passage: “In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its former glory” (Amos 9:11).

And “I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them says the Lord your God” (Amos 9:15).

Then, from the one-chapter book of Obadiah: “The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge all godless nations! As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads. Just as you swallowed up my people on my holy mountain, so you and the surrounding nations will swallow the punishment I pour out on you. Yes, all you nations will drink and stagger and disappear from history” Obadiah 1:15-16).

The Epidemic Global Surge of Antisemitism  

As several polls and facts on the ground reveal, hostility toward the Jews has increased exponentially since the unimaginable, savage Hamas-led Palestinian invasion of and barbaric atrocities against Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in thousands of injuries and the slaughter of some 1,200 Israelis.

Moreover, it is incomprehensible that supporters of Hamas and those against Israel on so many levels either deny the Palestinian brutal torture and murders of Jews, or minimize them, or dismiss them as inconsequential, or rationalize them as belonging to the right of Palestinians to “resist” the Jewish “occupiers.”

As I said in a prior article, if the Palestinians have a so-called right of resistance which is pure and simple a rebellion against the only democracy in the Middle East, (to destroy Israel and its very right to exist), then Israel has every right to defend itself from this mini-Holocaust and future attacks by “resisting the resistance.” Making sure that Hamas or Hezbollah or Iran itself does not have the capacity to ever again inflict such carnage. Regarding Hamas, it simply means to eliminate this detestable, evil gang of thugs and terrorists, who subjugate their own people and use them as human shields.

Contemporary Examples of World-Wide Animosity & Aggression Toward Jews/Israel

For sake of time/space, only a small handful of incidents will be cited. There are literally thousands upon thousands. I wrote two articles on the October 7, 2023, malicious Hamas / Palestinian attack on Israel. I’ve also read dozens of articles and news reports from reliable authors/sources that have documented the (post 10-7 invasion) pitiful and perverted attitudes and actions that disparage, denounce, demonize, and devastate Jews. Not experienced since the Holocaust.

General Examples

• Well-known and gifted analyst and writer of all things Israel, Melanie Phillips (based in Great Britian), stated in an article, Open Season against the Jews (posted 9-18-2025 in on-line web site, Jewish News Syndicate): “All bets are off. Clearly, there’s no limit to the world’s attempt to defame, delegitimize and destroy Israel, signaling through this incitement an implicit but unmistakable indication that it’s now open season on Jews wherever they are. Moreover, Palestinian Arabs have never hidden the fact that the purpose of such a state (a Palestinian state to replace Israel) is to provide a launching pad for the extermination of Israel and the murder of Jews. It would put the whole of central Israel within easy range of missiles fired from Ramallah” (parenthesis mine).
• States Michael Brown, a well-known Messianic Jew, prolific speaker, and author (books and articles), who currently hosts the popular online program The Line of Fire, in a brief article posted 9-30-2025: “Never in my lifetime have I seen such outright hatred of Israel and the Jewish people as I see today—and I am 70 years old. Have you ever seen the like? An American social media influencer with tens of millions of followers says that Israel should be ‘removed from the map.’ Prominent voices with multiplied millions of followers blame Israel and the Jewish people for everything, including the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A large percentage of American young people believe that ‘Israel should be ended and given to Hamas’” (emphasis added by the author in the text).
• Declares Michael D. Evans—head of Jerusalem Prayer Team headquartered in Phoenix, AZ with a large presence (buildings and ministry in Jerusalem), a best-selling author (dozens of books and articles)—and a good friend of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu: “The Jewish people are under attack—not because of land, or ‘genocide’ or anything else. They are under attack because they are Jewish and the dark evil of anti-Semitism is on the rise all around the world.”
• The Nation of Turkey—one of the three larger nations (also Russia and Iran) that will attack Israel in what the Bible refers to as the Gog/Magog invasion. Turkey’s President, Tayyip Erdogan as cited by author Con Coughlin in a Gatestone Institute on-line article: “On September 29, 2025, Erdogan stated, ‘It is time for Israel to turn to dust … could turn to dust in three days … Chase them out of your cities. The time has come for hundreds of thousands of people to accumulate on the borders of Israel and enter the cities in waves.’ Then on 10-6-2025 he boasted, ‘No one can save Israel now … Israel will have no choice but to kneel in front of Turkey.’”

Specific Examples:

• The cold-blooded murder of a staff member of the Israeli Embassy (in the U.S.), Yaron Lischinsky and his girlfriend, Sarah Milgrim on 5-21-2025. They were a young couple with a very bright future, snuffed out by terrorists’ bullets in Washington D.C. The killer: a Muslim man who made it clear that he hated Jews. Sarah was Jewish; presumably, the murderer also thought Yaron was Jewish.

• A 45-year-old Somali-born man, Essa Suleiman, faces two counts of attempted murder in the stabbing of two Jewish men just outside the Hagers Shul Synagogue in London. This garnered global headlines at the time. It was yet another violent episode of Islamic/Muslim attacks against Jews.
• The senseless, terrifying slaughter of 15 Jews at the beginning of a Chanukah festival held at Bondi Beach on 12-14-2025 in Sydney, Australia. The murderers: A Muslim man and his son.

As I’ve written in some prior articles: Never in the history of humanity, have so many people world-wide been so preoccupied, some to the extreme of obsessive / compulsive, with the exceedingly small nation of Israel and the Jewish race in general. Heads of state and private citizens the world over have an opinion about Israel. Those who are exceptionally antagonistic toward Israel have sunk to the depth of wanting something done about Israel and/or the Jews … the sooner the better.

This mentality eerily echoes the shameful sinister strategy conceived by Hitler and his Third Reich: The Final Solution—elimination of all Jews … Genocide. Which is why the next point regarding the Pope’s one-sided support of the Palestinians over the Israelis is utterly lamentable.

• In September 2025 Pope Leo said: “I express my deepest sympathy to the Palestinian people in Gaza, who continue to live in fear and survive in unacceptable conditions, forced—once again—from their lands.” That statement is not only one-sided and incomplete, but also transparently wrong. He said nothing about the hundreds of thousands of Israelis forced to leave their homes in northern Israel due to incessant bombing by Hezbollah from Lebanon. Nor does he seem to be influenced by the factual truth of why the Gasa Strip Arabs are suffering, i.e. because Hamas will not lay down its arms and stop attacking and killing Jews. Has he forgotten the very reason for this war? That Palestinians slaughtered 1,200 Israelis on 10-7-2023. Israel must under no circumstances allow Hamas to ever again be a tangible threat to Israel.
• The Pope also said the Palestinians were forced from their lands once again. Since when is any part of the Sovereign State of Israel Palestinian land? There is no Palestinian race. There is no Palestinian language or heritage. All the land belongs to Israel, which has permitted (Palestinian) non-citizen Arabs to live in Gaza Strip (no Jews) and Judea/Samaria … mostly Arabs. Plus, Israel has granted citizenship to about 1.8 million Arabs… Israeli Arabs with the same rights afforded to Jews. The Pope is also referring to the 1948-1949 War of Independence in which 5 Arab nations attacked Israel the day after Israel declared statehood. It was the Arab leaders/generals who told the Arabs in Israel to leave. They could return after the Muslim armies defeated Israel, which should not take long at all! Guess what? Israel won that war and every war since. Sadly, if the Pope says otherwise, then the real facts for many are irrelevant.

Attitude/Actions Toward Israel/Jews Will Determine the Fate of Nations and Individuals

Make no mistake. In the context of the end times (in which we are living), the true and living God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has sprung into action. Beginning primarily with Israel’s rebirth as a Sovereign State on May 14, 1948.

Not that the Lord has been silent or inactive since he created the heavens and earth and all living things. Rather, I’m referring to God’s sovereign intervening action to ignite the Day of the Lord beginning with the soon to come Rapture and within 7 years thereafter, the national redemption and restoration of Israel. To then usher in the majestic Kingdom of God with Messiah Jesus the King of kings reigning from Jerusalem.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

With, however, solemn warnings to Israel’s enemies. During the Tribulation, the world will clearly understand that our Sovereign Triune LORD, Creator and Savior of mankind, is far superior to all man-made gods. Yes, that includes the Islamic moon god Allah.

Recently, some countries have unilaterally recognized and “granted” statehood to Palestine, a land that does not exist. Nations arbitrarily declaring such statehood have no authority to do so, particularly when whatever boundaries they select are an integral part of the Sovereign State of Israel.

Those “Goat” nations (Matthew 25:31-46) are the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, and Portugal. Other nations have imposed sanctions of all kinds against Israel They are but not limited to: Norway, Denmark, Slovenia, and Spain. Though Slovenia has begun to warm up to Israel, complements of a newly elected pro-Israeli Prime Minister, Janez Jansa.

I and other writers have quoted Zuheir Mohsen, the Muslim Arab activist and political leader’s candid admission. Published on March 31, 1977, it is still relevant today:

“The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality, today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism.”

Peace In Our Time

I did not want to borrow, word for word, the infamous words voiced by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain on September 30, 1938, who boasted to the world, Peace For Our Time.

He and his staff had reached an agreement with Adolph Hitler (appeasement) that the Allies would allow Hitler to annex the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia with Hitler’s promise not to claim any other territory in Europe as belonging to Germany. Considering Hitler’s devious design for Germany and Europe, this was a deceptive treaty. Just a few months later Germany took over the rest of Czechoslovakia … March 15, 1939. Then the Third Reich invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, which exploded into World War II as England and France had defense pacts with Poland.

The circumstances of Chamberlains’ peace pact are substantially different than what is happening in our world some 87 years later. Except for one intrinsic and striking similarity. Already underway, peace in our time will continue to be, for the near future, a somewhat fragile one. It is not necessarily precarious or frail or weak. Rather it is sustainable and persuasive, but it could be stronger.

When/how did this framework of peace begin?

In June 2025 Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran—unprecedented in Israel’s history and spectacularly shocking for the United States, in that previous US Presidents only gave lip service to their promise never to let Iran have nuclear warheads. The US operation was called Midnight Hammer. The Israeli labeled its’ campaign Operation Rising Lion. Israeli planes took out missile launch sites, military facilities and other installations, including above ground nuclear plants.

Ironically (poetically for Israelis), the war lasted 12 days. One day for each of the 12 tribes of Israel.

America contributed to the massive demolition with even bigger bombs called bunker busters (dropped from B2 stealth bombers) to blow up and bury dense subterranean nuclear installations that other bombs couldn’t penetrate. Together Israel and the US dealt a crippling blow to Iran’s nuclear ambitions and some of Iran’s conventional arsenal.

Though stunned by the magnitude of this bold attack, Iran remained stubbornly defiant.

As Israel continued to search and destroy Hamas strongholds in the Gaza Strip, President Trump decided to intervene with the idea of a sweeping peace plan that would support Israel’s military objectives in/for the Gaza Strip. To also provide the wherewithal to rebuild and govern Gaza. In doing so, to make certain that Hamas would be disarmed—preferably by choice. If not, then by force.

On September 29, 2025, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Trump in the White House. PM Netanyahu gave a stirring message at which time he acknowledged and thanked President Trump for creating a 20-point Peace Plan for Israel, the Gaza Strip, and the Middle East as a whole. Included in that Peace Plan was a Board of Peace with President Trump as the Chairman.

Here is a brief excerpt from Netanyahu’s presentation: “Now, under your (referring to Trump) leadership, we’re taking the next step to win the war and expand the peace. Your plan is consistent with the five principles my government set for the end of this war and the day after Hamas…”

• All our hostages … both those dead and alive will return home immediately. (Note: that, has, in fact, happened).
• Hamas will be disarmed.
• Gaza will be demilitarized.
• Israel will retain security responsibility, including a security perimeter for the foreseeable future.
• And lastly, Gaza will have a peaceful civilian administration that is run neither by Hamas nor by the Palestinian Authority.” (parenthesis mine)

Subsequently (November 2025) the UN Security Council voted 13-0, with Russia and China abstaining, to approve President Trump’s Peace Plan and Board of Peace.

To date, the goals of this Board of Peace and Peace Plan are mostly on hold with Hamas defiantly refusing to lay down its weapons.

However, the fact remains that Hamas has been, for all practical purposes, defeated by Israel. What’s left in military terms is that of a “mopping up” actions if Hamas doesn’t voluntarily give up its weapons and quit. Neither Hamas nor Hezbollah will have the capacity to do what Hamas did on that fateful day (October 7, 2023).

This framework for Israel’s growing peace initiatives essentially began when President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu orchestrated the Abraham Accords in 2020.

Phase Two of the War Against Iran

Once again, Iran was arrogantly rebellious. Reliable American and Israeli intelligence revealed that Iran still had several hundred pounds of enriched uranium that they would need to dig up, but, nevertheless, in Iranian possession. Furthermore, Iran still refused to halt their nuclear ambitions.

In fact, their former Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (in June 2025) again boasted that, “…based on a definite divine decree, the Zionist regime is collapsing.” He had several times in the past declared that Iran would “wipe Israel from the face of the earth.”

The United States and Israel struck again. They took Iran seriously, as they should, as other US administrations and governments the world over should have.

On February 28, 2026, Israel launched her Roaring Lion campaign against Iran, joined again by the United States bombardment called Epic Fury. This time a meeting place of Aytollah Ali Khamenei was hit killing the Ayatollah and some 40 high-ranking government and military officials. So much for Khamenei’s death threats against Israel and America. Iran’s navy and air force were virtually eliminated along with more missiles launch sites and military facilities.

Shortly, thereafter, Hezbollah attacked Israel and to date Israel is inflicting heavy blows on this northern terrorist group. Most likely you’ve been following the global developments in which the fighting against Iran is on hold waiting for this rogue dual-faced nation to agree to hand over what’s left of its enriched uranium and swear never again to restart its nuclear projects. That and the solution to Iran’s blockage of the Hormuz Strait is ongoing.

On April 8, 2026, President Trump announced that the US and Iran had agreed to cease fire. This took place 40 days after the 2^nd war began on February 28. The number 40 is important to Jews and Christians alike. It’s a number that represents and reflects a time of preparation and difficulty but with better things to come.

Moses 40 days receiving the Torah on Mt. Sinai. Jesus 40 days in the Judean wilderness followed by the start of his magnificent ministry and redemptive mission on earth; to usher in the Age of Grace. So great a salvation—through God’s grace alone by faith alone (not good works or self-worth) in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9.

Observations on Unfolding Events and Disposition of The Current Stalemate

Based on Biblical prophecy and world events I’m convinced that the two historic peace agreements (Abraham Accords and the Board of Peace) will lead to a more comprehensive Middle East peace with even more Arab countries climbing on board.

But only AFTER Israel and the US more conclusively render Iran ineffective as a terrorist state. Consequently, Iran’s contribution to the other major nations of Gog/Magog will be that of land armed forces, men and munitions, especially drones.

After a fashion, Iran will surrender; conditionally or unconditionally, stated or implied, and agree to President Trump’s terms satisfactory to the US and Israel. From a Biblical prophetic outlook, it will be a tenuous peace. However, from a Jewish perspective of Israel’s security and her very existence, a cessation to this war with Iran–with nothing more than some (possible) skirmishes with Hezbollah or Hamas—will generate a time of peace not experienced by Israel since she was reborn as a nation in 1948. The whole world will breathe a collective sigh of relief, but Israel’s sigh will be noticeably noisier!

However, speaking of the end times, the Apostle Paul warned, “For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, ‘Everything is peaceful and secure,’ then disaster will fall on them as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape” (I Thessalonians 5:2-3).

Jesus, himself, said that no one can know the day or hour of the first part of his return—the Rapture, where he does not yet step foot on earth. I Thessalonians 4:15-18 provides the Rapture’s dramatic sequence of events. Please refer to Eye of Prophecy article, The Shout Heard Around the World, published 4-22-2017).

Nonetheless, in Matthew Chapters 24-25, Jesus foretold several signs of the last days preceding his glorious return—the Rapture and 7years later his return to Planet Earth. Regarding these two spectacular Second Coming episodes there are two prominent conditions that are crystal clear.

Jesus cautioned: “You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected” (Matthew 24:44).

When could/would least expected take place? I would venture to say that most believers and even unbelievers who would care to make a guess, would say that Christ would suddenly take believers to heaven (Rapture) during a time of war or the imminent threat of a world war—say between US and Russia or China. Or a time of great economic hardship the world over. Or a global outbreak of deadly diseases—like Covid 19, only worse. Or _____. You fill in the blank.

My own take on this would be none of the above. Why? Because of the 2^nd condition described by Jesus: “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day … people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes” (Matthew 24:37-39).

These two passages yield the compelling conclusion: The Rapture will suddenly happen during a time of peace and perhaps even a healthy dose of harmony between some nations!

Thus, this broader peace following the Iran war will be somewhat delicate but still significant enough for Israel to bask in its newfound Shalom. Peace more than the absence of war; it will deliver a generous measure of Jewish national and individual tranquility.

Next in sequence is the reappearance of the Beast who had died as he comes up, out of the Abyss (Revelation 17:7-8). Soon after the Rapture. In my book Out of the Abyss and in many Eye of Prophecy articles (category of Antichrist), there is an abundance of Scriptural and historical evidence to demonstrate that Nero is the Antichrist.

Because of his “supernatural” return (allowed by God) to earth and because of one of the first things he does, Nero will be revered by billions, even most Jews. Soon after the Rapture he will orchestrate a 7-year treaty between Israel and surrounding Muslim nations to include allowance for the Jews to rebuild a third Temple! This will be an astonishing achievement. In addition to his (God planned and permitted) reappearance on earth that will amaze (Revelation 13 and 17) most of the world, the rebuilt Tempe further endears Nero to Israel.

“The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven (7 years), but after half this time (3 ½ years), he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings (in and around the Temple) …” (Daniel 9:27a, parenthesis mine).

These translations use the following words in Daniel 9:27 to describe the covenant or treaty orchestrated by the Antichrist:

Living Bible: “make a seven-year treaty”

New Living Translation: “make a treaty”

English Standard Version: “make a strong covenant”

Complete Jewish Bible: “make a strong covenant”

New International Version: “’make a firm covenant”

New American Standard Bible: “make a firm covenant”

King James Version: “confirm the covenant”

All translations are saying the same thing: there will be a treaty/covenant—duration of seven years—between the Jews and surrounding nations.

Hebrew word for create: bara (In the beginning God created…) Means to make something out of nothing. Bringing something into existence that didn’t exist before. Man was “created” when God breathed the breath of life (man’s soul/spirit) into Adam.

Hebrew word for make: asah: “Let us make man in our image…” This declares the intention of God, not the actual creation. God makes Adam from the dust (elements) of the earth and Eve from Adam’s rib. Thus, the meaning of make/made is to form something out of something which already exists. Man’s creation is a body, soul, and spirit that didn’t exist before; thus, the distinction between bara and asah.

The actual Hebrew word used in Daniel 9:27 is neither bara nor asah: Rather it is, gabar (pronounced “gawvar”). With the most accurate English rendition that of confirm. In the Greek Septuagint (many Bible scholars endorse this Hebrew to Greek translation), the Greek word into English is “strengthen” (strengthen the covenant). In fact, gabar means both confirm and strengthen.

Therefore, considering current events in the Middle East, the King James Version seems to be (is) the most definitive translation. Moreover, it uses the definite article (the covenant) instead of an indefinite article (a covenant). Next clearest versions: make a strong or firm covenant. Why? Although substituting the word make for confirm, they reinforce the essence of the text itself … this newer covenant is strong and firm.

What makes it stronger or firmer? By enhancing and expanding the pre-Rapture peace conditions, the post-Rapture 7-year covenant results in a more powerful and convincing covenant than the one in place. This will be exceptionally important soon after the Rapture, amidst global upheaval and uncertainty.

At that time, Israel and Jews the world over will experience an even greater sense of security and serenity than that which is currently in progress, pending Iran’s and its terrorist proxies’ more decisive defeat.

Which brings us to the:

Startling Gog/Magog Invasion of Israel

Let’s examine precisely what it is that entices Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya, Ethiopia, and other smaller countries to devise a diabolical scheme to vanquish Israel as a nation. Because I have written several articles on Gog/Magog, for purpose of today’s article we’ll refer only to those passages in Ezekiel that correlate closely to daily developments as the whole world watches.

Ezekiel 38:3-4a: God is speaking to Ezekiel regarding Gog: “Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: Gog, I am your enemy! I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army…”

Comment: Note, you don’t’ want to be God’s enemy! However, because of our inherent sin nature and sins, every person ever born is God’s enemy. Yet, there is a fantastic remedy: “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right with God in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation” (Romans 5:8-9).

“…People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood…” (Romans 3:25). That’s all God requires of us: to believe and receive Messiah Jesus as our Personal Savior!

God’s warning eclipses Gog’s thoughts that Israel is Gog/Magog’s intended enemy. Instead, God, Himself, is their enemy who will defend Israel. The hook in Gog’s jaws figuratively demonstrates that God is intervening directly to move things along according to His divine timetable for the Tribulation events.

The “turning around” refers to Russia, Turkey, Iran (recently allies, formerly a dislike of each for the other two nations), partially withdrawing their military from Syria (bordering Israel) due to two main factors: (1) Russia’s attack on the Ukraine in February 2022. (2) The US/Israeli attack on Iran in June 2025 and its more recent assault in March. Turkey’s influence and presence in Syria have also been marginalized in the last year or so. At the time that Gog/Magog attacks Israel they, in effect, will turn back toward Israel, this time to annihilate the Jewish State.

Ezekiel 38:7: God continues to speak to Gog. “Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them.”

Comment: The word “keep” confirms and expands on the readiness and preparation. Russia and to a lesser degree, Turkey, are mobilized now and will remain so after the Rapture. Turkey has been militarily active in Syria and other Middle East nations. Though Iran’s navy, air force, and its missile arsenal has been distinctly degraded, its’ two armies—regular and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite, ruthless force radically loyal to Iran’s clerical rulers)—will be a formidable force.

Ezekiel 38:8: “A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel.”

Comment: Our generation is noticeably in that “distant future.” Israel was reborn as a Sovereign Nation in 1948. She has fought 4 conventional wars (1948, 1956, 1967, 1973) and won them all. And three lesser conflicts with just the nation of Lebanon—1982, 2004, and 2006. Plus, murderous lone wolf attacks against Israelis and smaller skirmishes with Hamas and Hezbollah. Israel is currently fighting its 5^th multi-nation war, beginning with Hamas, to eliminate this gang of liars and murders and make sure October 7 never happens again. Also, against Iran and Hezbollah.

What is taking place currently is nothing short of astonishing. As alluded, the beginning of a Middle East Peace Plan orchestrated by President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu which is unprecedented. Though this peace initiative and developments are still in the formative stages, it will eventually (near future) be suitable and durable enough to reassure Israel.

Globally, Peace In Our Time.

Ezekiel 38:11 & 12b: Now Gog is speaking/plotting: “…Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence! … They think the whole revolves around them!”

Comment: Obviously Gog’s probe of Israel’s mindset is strictly his opinion, not borne out in fact. Ironically, however, this perception parallels most of the world as expressed by widespread antisemitism, e.g. unfounded jealousy of Jews, false accusations, convoluted conspiracies, and irrational violence. Plus, an increasingly intense desire: To Solve the Jewish/Israeli Problem.

Yet, the most prominent feature of the above passages is that Israel drifts into complacency, figuratively described by/with unwalled villages.

This misplaced sense of security is what entices (hook in Gog’s jaws) Gog and Magog’s massive coalition to march on Israel.

*Note: Does Ezekiel state that there must be or will be a peace treaty in existence that will entice Gog/Magog to attack Israel? No, he doesn’t. However, Daniel 9 explicitly tells us there will be such a peace treaty. With the remarkable result of Israel’s strengthened sense of security and implied lack of vigilance. That dynamic covenant to include a Third Jewish Temple will confirm and expand the peace parameters that are being developed in our time.

No other nation will come to Israel’s aid. They will be all talk and no action. This includes the United States which will incur a loss of millions in the Rapture including government and military personnel. Farming, manufacturing, wholesale and retail businesses, and construction will be reduced considerably. And/or a US president could be in place who couldn’t care less about Israel’s fate.

(The New Living Translation states “…my fury will boil over”).

God, Himself, will destroy these mammoth armies with supernatural disasters and the armies of Magog turning against each other. All Israel needs do is bury the dead and use the captured fuel throughout Israel!

As the world turns right now, there’s no way that the Magog alliance would dare attack Israel. The extreme power of the US Military and the Israeli IDF would inflict massive casualties on Gog/Magog.

Condensed Conclusion: Until our generation, there’s been no time in Biblical, secular, and Jewish history, in which current events are picturing precisely what’s taking place in Ezekiel’s Gog/Magog prophecy.

Summary: When it comes to antagonistic attitude and aggressive action against Jews and Israel: You don’t want to be on the wrong side of history!

Things to Ponder

Antichrist Nero and his still rising kingdom will sit back and watch. Nevertheless, he will—along with most of the world—begin to fully comprehend (yet, still rebellious) what God says during and after his destruction of Gog/Magog,

“…Then all the nations with know that I am the LORD” (Ezekiel 38:16b).

I trust that the evidence presented in this article validates the premise that God’s judgment primarily against Israel’ enemies is—in terms of the volume of Biblical prophetic text—more prominent than the other three purposes of the Great Tribulation, though those three are of the utmost importance.

The Russia, Turkey, Iran alliance, which developed in just the past few years, is explicitly expressing their impatience (chomping at the bit!) to destroy Israel. The whole earth is escalating an intolerance toward Israel in general and Jews in particular. Something must give … and soon.

The Day of the Lord triggered by Rapture of believers is approaching at warp speed!

“For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people …. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed” (Titus 2:11-13).

“How great is the Lord. How deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on his holy mountain! It is high and magnificent; the whole earth rejoices to see it! Mount Zion, the holy mountain, is the city of the great King! God himself is in Jerusalem’s towers, revealing himself as its defender” (Psalm 48:1-3).
